Everything you might want to know about ordering, shipping, returning, and what we do with your data. Written in plain language because legal pages shouldn't need their own translator.
Every order is made to order in our workshop in Norrtälje. We don't keep a finished-goods warehouse — production starts the day after you order, and most pieces ship within the lead times below. For limited-run items, the product page shows real-time stock.
The lead times above are from when we ship, not from when you order. Production itself takes 1–5 working days depending on the piece (the product page shows the print time). So a typical Swedish order is in your hands within 5–10 working days end-to-end.
For commissions and custom prints from your own CAD files, lead times are quoted individually — usually 3–7 days for simple pieces.
You'll get a tracking link by email the moment your order leaves the workshop. If you don't see one within 5 working days of ordering, write to hello@norrteljeprintlab.se and we'll look into it.
Orders inside the EU are tax-paid (Swedish VAT, 25%) — no extra fees on arrival. Outside the EU, your local customs may charge import duties; these are the buyer's responsibility and we can't predict them in advance. If you need a different commercial value on the customs declaration for a gift or commission, let us know before we ship.
You have 14 days from delivery to return any catalog item for a full refund, no questions asked. The piece needs to come back in the same condition it left in — unused, unmarked, in the original packaging. Send it back tracked, and we'll refund the order (minus return shipping) within 5 working days of receiving it.
Anything made from your CAD file or to your custom spec is non-returnable, since we can't put it back into stock. That said, if a custom piece doesn't print the way you expected — wrong dimensions, surface defects, anything we got wrong — write to us within 14 days and we'll either reprint it or refund the order. Print failures on our end are our problem, not yours.
For pieces that fail because the source file had geometry issues, we'll flag those before we print whenever we spot them. If we missed something and printed a part that was structurally flawed because of the file, we'll talk through it case by case.
If something arrives broken, send us a photo within 48 hours of receiving it and we'll reprint and ship a replacement at no cost. Don't throw the broken piece away — we may want it back for the carrier's claim.
Email hello@norrteljeprintlab.se with your order number and we'll send a return label and instructions. Don't ship anything back without contacting us first — it makes the refund slower on both ends.
Almost certainly, yes. Upload your file on the Custom page — STL, STEP, OBJ, 3MF, or F3D, up to 10 MB — and we'll send a quote within 24 hours.
If your file is bigger than 10 MB (common with high-poly STLs or assemblies), email it directly to hello@norrteljeprintlab.se instead.
Single-part envelope is 256 × 256 × 256 mm on our FDM printers, 200 × 125 × 165 mm for resin. For bigger pieces, we split into parts and bond them — works invisibly for most geometries. We'll suggest the right split when we quote.
For decorative or display pieces, PLA is the right default — affordable, broadest colour range, great surface. For functional parts that need to take stress or live outdoors, PETG. For anything bendy or grippy, TPU. For ultra-fine detail (jewellery, miniatures), resin.
If you're not sure, leave material set to "Suggest best fit" when you upload — we'll recommend one and tell you why.
FDM: ±0.2 mm on dimensions over 50 mm, slightly tighter on smaller features. Resin: ±0.05 mm. For tight tolerances on functional parts (gears, snap fits, threaded sockets), tell us in the notes and we'll adjust slicing parameters and orientation accordingly.
For special finishes — vapour-smoothing, painting, dyeing, plating — get in touch. We do these for commissions but they're not part of the standard catalog because turnaround stretches. Expect 7–14 days for finished pieces with post-processing.
Yes — 5 to 500 pieces is our sweet spot. Above 100 pieces, we offer a 15% discount; above 250, 25%. Email hello@norrteljeprintlab.se with the file and quantity for a proper quote.
Only until we ship your order, plus 90 days in case there's a follow-up. After that they're deleted from our systems. We never share, sell, or republish customer files — see the Privacy section below.
For commissions over 1000 SEK we always send a photo before dispatch — built into the workflow. For smaller pieces, ask in the notes and we'll do the same.
Norrtälje, Sweden — about an hour north of Stockholm. The workshop isn't a retail space, but if you're nearby and want to collect in person, get in touch and we'll arrange it.
Short version: we collect the minimum we need to ship you a thing, we don't sell your data to anyone, we don't run advertising trackers, and we delete what we don't need. The longer version below explains exactly what that means.
When you place an order, we collect your name, shipping address, email, and the items you bought. Payment details (card numbers) go straight to our payment processor — we never see or store them.
When you upload a CAD file for a custom quote, we keep the file on our server until the order is shipped, plus 90 days in case you need a reprint. Then it's deleted.
When you write to us, we keep the email thread so we can find context if you write again later.
No advertising trackers. No analytics that identify you. No cookies beyond what's needed to keep the site working (cart state, theme preference). No newsletter sign-up unless you explicitly ask for it.
We count visits so we know which pages are worth improving. It runs on our own server — no Google Analytics, no third party, and nothing about you leaves our machine.
We record the page address, the referring site, and whether you're on desktop or mobile. To tell one visitor from another without identifying anyone, we turn your IP address and browser into a one-way fingerprint using a secret that we throw away and replace every night. Your IP address is never stored, the fingerprint can't be reversed, and because the secret changes daily, the same person looks like a different visitor tomorrow. There is no way for us to follow you over time or work out who you are.
This is also why the site has no cookie banner: cookieless, anonymous statistics like these don't require consent under EU rules. Statistics are kept for 12 months and then deleted.
Only the services we have to: our payment processor (Stripe), our shipping carriers (PostNord, DHL, UPS depending on destination), and our hosting provider. Each of these has its own privacy policy and is GDPR-compliant.
We don't sell, rent, or trade customer data. Not to advertisers, not to marketplaces, not to anyone. Your CAD files specifically are never shared, republished, or used as portfolio material without explicit permission.
Under GDPR you have the right to: see what data we have on you, correct it if it's wrong, delete it (the "right to be forgotten"), and export it in a portable format. Email hello@norrteljeprintlab.se with the subject line "Data request" and we'll respond within 30 days.
The site uses three pieces of local storage on your device: your dark/light theme choice, your language choice, and your shopping cart between page loads. None of them leave your browser. We don't use third-party cookies or pixels.
If we update this policy in a way that affects your data, we'll note the change at the bottom of this page and email anyone with an active order at the time.
